Underage Drinking & Nightclub Safety Task Force Continues to Make Arrests

As reported by W. Zachary Malinowski, in the October 18, 2010 edition of the Providence Journal, the Underage Drinking and Nightclub Safety Task Force continued its surprise inspections this past weekend. The Task Force, including members of the Rhode Island State Police, Fire Marshal's Office and the Department of Business Regulations, teamed up with the Narragansett Police Party Patrol.

Together they visited bars and nightclubs in Narragansett and Providence. One restaurant was issued both a fire code and liquor license violation. At another bar in Narragansett, the Task Force arrested four (4) people for underage drinking and misuse of identification. At times, members of the Rhode Island State Police conducted breathalyzer tests on bar patrons to determine if they were drinking and requested identification to determine if patrons were twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
