Police Chief Released from Prison

As reported by Donita Naylor in the August 22, 2015 edition of the Providence Journal, former North Providence Police Chief Whiting has been released from prison. He was originally sentenced to serve six (6) months on a felony larceny and criminal solicitation charges. He was released from the ACI after serving nearly two (2) months, 58 days at the ACI. He was originally sentenced to four and half (4 ½) years of probation following his incarceration. That sentence has also been reduced to three (3) year of probation. The other terms of his sentence including no-contact orders, anger management and mental health counseling appear to remain in effect.
