Newport Alcohol Offense Dismissed & Expunged

In March of 2013, our Client was arrested by the Newport Police Department and charged with open container in public. Our client was allegedly drinking beer on a public sideway in Newport.

Pursuant to Newport Municipal Code 9.04.020. - Alcoholic beverages—Consumption or possession in public places. No person shall consume, possess or drink alcoholic beverages, or transport alcoholic beverages in an open container, on the public streets, public sidewalks, public roadways, public parks or public beaches in the city.

The penalties if convicted include a sentence not to exceed thirty (30) days in jail and/or impose a fine not in excess of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00), and/or require community service, or any combination thereof.

Due to Attorney Humphrey's skill and experience with alcohol offenses, the charge was dismissed and our client's record was immediately expunged.
