Rhode Island Veterans Diversion Program

Under the leadership of Chief Judge LaFazia, the District Court has established a Veterans Diversion Program. This new program is designed to help veterans who are arrested for criminal misdemeanors. The purpose of the program is to help veterans address the underlying issues, such as trauma, PTSD and other mental health problems, which caused them to commit crimes. As an alternative to prosecution, the program includes group therapy and counseling as a means to help veterans resolve such issues and successfully reintegrate into society.

Attorney Humphrey has successfully defended veterans and enlisted military members throughout his career and he is experienced and knowledgeable about this new Veterans Diversion Program.

If you or a family member are a veteran or a currently serving in the Armed Forces and has been charged with drunk driving (DUI), refusal to submit to a chemical test, or other alcohol offenses, please allow Attorney Robert H. Humphrey's reputation, experience and skill to successfully guide you through the legal process. Please contact Attorney Robert H. Humphrey, Esq., at 401-816-5862 or e-mail him at rhh@rhumphreylaw.com.
