National College for DUI Defense Honors Attorney Humphrey

In July of 2011, the National College for DUI Defense presented Robert H. Humphrey, Esq., with a plaque in recognition of his completion of the College's intensive Summer Session curriculum in DUI Defense Law conducted at the Harvard Law School.

The National College for DUI Defense is a professional, non-profit corporation, dedicated to the improvement of the criminal defense bar and the dissemination of information to the public about DUI Defense Law. College members represent some of the most experienced DUI Defense Attorneys in the Country.

In 2003, the American Bar Association recognized DUI Defense Law as a specialty area in the practice of law. In 2004, the American Bar Association awarded its "Certificate of Accreditation" to the Board Certification Program of the National College for DUI Defense. The College is the only organization in this Country accredited to certify lawyers in the DUI Defense Law practice area. The American Bar Association accreditation is currently recognized in twenty (20) states. However, the Rhode Island Supreme Court licenses all Rhode Island lawyers in the general practice of law and does not license or certify any lawyer as an expert or specialist in any particular field of practice.

According to the College's Mission Statement, few offenses in America's Criminal Justice process calls for greater attorney expertise than cases involving driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. DUI cases are especially complex because they require defense counsel to understand scientific evidence, factual issues and the legal process. The legal issues are extremely broad involving search and seizure, due process, illegal interrogation, denial of counsel, and evidentiary issues. It is the mission of the National College for DUI Defense to provide the finest advanced-level training available to the DUI Defense Law practitioner. In sum, the mission of the College is to vindicate the promise of the United States Constitution that a citizen accused has the right to effective assistance of his or her counsel.

If you or a family member has been charged with drunk driving, drunk driving – serious bodily injury or drunk driving – death resulting, please allow Attorney Robert H. Humphrey's reputation, experience and skill to successfully guide you through the legal process. Contact Robert H. Humphrey, Esq., at 401-816-5862 or e-mail him at rhh@rhumphreylaw.com.
